Kwethluk Port
Proposed Port for
the City of Kwethluk
The City of Kwethluk is working on developing a new Port; the Port will include a Dock, Boat Ramp and Staging area.
We are nearing the stage where a qualified engineering firm will be hired to conduct a feasibility study. The feasibility study will determine if a Port is feasible or not. If a Port is feasible, then the feasibility study will determine what size dock, boat ramp and staging area will be required. The following picture does not represent what the Port will look like. This picture is only a concept of what the new Port may look like.
While it is not final, our proposed Port is expected to be comprised of a permanent 300-foot-long barge landing and a 250-foot port and dock facility on Kuskoquak Slough on the Kuskokwim River. The project will construct a permanent barge/landing craft ramp and dock/wharf with up to two berths capable of handling 500-ton barges.
